The Hindu Temple of Kansas City is a non-profit religious organization serving the Hindu population living
in the Greater Kansas City area for the past 15 years.
On 12th January 2003 Hindu Temple of Kansas City, conducted The Annamacharya Festival to honor Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya. The festival was planned as a
120 minute program. About 150 people attended a well coordinated program
that started with the chanting of Sri Venkateshwara Vajra Kavacha Sthotram by
the Temple Priest as an Invocation, followed by 3 concerts of 4 Annamaya
Sankirtanas each, sung by local vocalists. The program was conducted
inside the temple and the ambience was truly divine. The pattern of group singing
style was electrifying. The temple followed up the concerts with an Utsavam of the
Lord within the temple. During the intermission, some
Sankirtanas sung by renowned Late Smt. Srirangam Gopalaratnam were
played to the delight of the audience. The program received good coverage in the local press.
